This Privacy Policy describes how YumCart ("YumCart," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website at yumcartapp.com, join our early access waitlist, or otherwise interact with us before or during the YumCart app launch.

By using our website or submitting your information through the waitlist form, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or submit your information.

Information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide. When you join the YumCart waitlist, we may collect your email address and optional details such as your name, device type, and main goal. We use this information to manage early access interest and communicate with you about YumCart.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and general usage data. This helps us operate, secure, and improve the website.

Analytics information. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, links clicked, time spent on the site, referring website, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device characteristics, and similar usage data. Google may set cookies or use similar technologies to collect and store this information. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, health records, or medical data through the waitlist form.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

operate the website and waitlist; send waitlist confirmation and launch-related emails; notify you about early access, product updates, and availability; maintain our contact list; improve YumCart; measure website traffic and performance; understand how visitors use our website; prevent abuse, fraud, or security issues; and comply with legal obligations.

YumCart provides grocery and meal-planning guidance. We do not use waitlist information to provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate YumCart, including:

Supabase, to store waitlist signups securely; Brevo, to send email communications and manage our contact list; Vercel (or similar hosting providers), to host and deliver our website; and Google Analytics, to help us measure and understand website usage.

These providers process information on our behalf and may only use it as needed to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help the site function and help us understand how it is used.

Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visitors, remember visits, and collect usage information. You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting cookies. If you block cookies, some parts of the website may not work as intended.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics across websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Email communications

If you join the waitlist, we may send you transactional messages such as waitlist confirmations, as well as emails about YumCart launch updates and early access. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting us.

Data retention

We keep waitlist information for as long as needed to manage early access, communicate with you, and operate YumCart, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration and Google's retention settings. You may ask us to delete your information as described below.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain uses of your personal information, or to object to processing. To make a request, contact us at the email below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

You can also limit analytics collection by adjusting your browser cookie settings, using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above, or enabling a "Do Not Track" or similar privacy signal in your browser where supported.

Children's privacy

YumCart is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you access our website from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate, including Google. Those locations may have different data protection laws than your home country.
